Following the annual tradition, the XU Chemistry Department opened its laboratory doors once again to visitors. High school students who had a chemistry subject were oriented on safety practices in the laboratory and were also given a guided tour through the exhibits. These were selected experiments and set-ups commonly found in inorganic, organic, analytical, physical, and forensic chemistry. The forensic chemistry portion was added this year in keeping up with the theme “Engaging Convergence”, which implies that all fields of chemistry can come together for practical applications in real life.
The forensic portion was set up around a murder mystery. We had a photoshoot depicting a party girl as the murder victim. I was the photographer and my fellow BS Chemistry students were the models for the victim and the suspects.
There were two other suspects: Foxy Lourdes’ mistreated and underpaid helper and her ex-boyfriend.
My classmate, Aldrine, also created a video for the murder case: Foxy Lourdes Murder Case HQ.
